Our commitment
As a family-owned business, ELA Container places reliability, strong values and long-term commercial thinking at the heart of everything we do. Sustainable business practices and the responsible use of resources are not simply ambitions for us – they are part of our everyday way of working.
We combine economic stability with environmental and social responsibility, both today and with future generations in mind. This approach is deeply embedded throughout our business and shapes both our day-to-day operations and our strategic decision-making.
Our sustainability pillars
To fulfil our responsibilities as a business in a holistic and sustainable way, we focus on three key ESG areas:
- + Climate and Environmental Protection (Environment)
- + Social Responsibility (Social)
- + Compliance and Integrity (Governance)
These pillars form the foundation of our sustainability strategy, helping us to reduce environmental impact, strengthen social values, and consistently uphold ethical and legal standards. In doing so, we aim to achieve measurable improvements across our entire value chain – step by step and with a long-term perspective.
ELA Container is committed to the responsible use of resources and supports climate protection across the entire value chain. We continuously work to reduce emissions and minimise climate-related risks.
Emissions are recorded annually in accordance with the GHG Protocol across Scope 1, 2 and 3 categories.
Through targeted measures, we are driving the decarbonisation of our value chain. For example, we reduce direct CO₂ emissions through the use of low-emission vehicles and optimised route planning.
Indirect emissions are reduced through the sourcing of sustainable energy and the implementation of responsible procurement processes throughout our supply chain.
Our modular product design promotes durability, reusability and ease of repair. In particular, our rental business supports closed-loop systems by refurbishing products after use and returning them to service.
Looking ahead, we are placing even greater focus on recyclable materials, increasing the use of secondary raw materials, and applying design-for-recycling principles. In this way, we continue to develop our material cycles to combine environmental responsibility with economic efficiency. This helps to minimise the use of raw materials and reduce environmental impact.
The wellbeing of our employees is our highest priority. We provide safe working conditions and promote diversity, equal opportunities, and a healthy work-life balance.
Our workplaces are ergonomically designed, while both physical and mental wellbeing are supported through training and health initiatives. Flexible working models allow for individual life circumstances, and we continuously develop our safety standards to help ensure long-term health and workplace safety.
ELA Container takes responsibility throughout the entire supply chain and expects the same commitment from its business partners. Compliance with international standards relating to human rights, working conditions, environmental protection and ethical conduct is a fundamental requirement for us.
These expectations are supported through supplier selection processes, policies and codes of conduct. We aim to build long-term strategic partnerships based on shared values, creating opportunities for innovation, responsibility and continuous development.
Our modular space solutions are designed to meet high standards of safety and quality. We rely on carefully selected materials, proven standards and considered product development.
Our products undergo comprehensive testing to ensure they meet the required performance and safety standards while delivering long-term reliability.
For us, compliance means more than simply meeting legal requirements – it also means embedding internal standards and ethical principles into our everyday actions. As a family-owned business, we combine regulatory compliance with a clear set of values.
Integrity is reflected in fair decision-making, transparent behaviour and taking responsibility. We maintain a clear stance against misconduct – at every level and across all areas of the business.
ELA Container provides a secure, confidential and anonymous whistleblowing system for reporting potential breaches of legal or ethical standards. The system enables reports to be handled in a structured manner and protects whistleblowers from disadvantage or retaliation.
We actively contribute to the prevention of misconduct and strengthen the integrity of our business. All reports are reviewed carefully, and measures are implemented to improve processes and promote a positive corporate culture.
Transparent communication is essential for building trust and supporting continuous development. For the 2024 financial year, we published our first sustainability report, documenting our progress and initiatives in the field of ESG.
Building on this foundation, we are now committed to ongoing reporting, helping us to continue pursuing our goals and stay on the right course to achieve long-term success.
