During the extensive refurbishment of a primary school in North Rhine-Westphalia, the school’s governing body needed to ensure that lessons could continue without disruption throughout the building works. Constructing an entirely new building was quickly discounted due to the lengthy lead times involved and the substantial investment required.

 

Instead, the governors opted for a cost-effective temporary solution from ELA Container that could be delivered and installed at short notice. For the duration of the refurbishment, our modular accommodation will provide fully equipped teaching and support spaces for no fewer than 157 pupils, all located on the school site. A complex comprising 33 ELA containers has been installed for this interim period.

Twenty-four containers provide space for classrooms and staff work areas, while two sanitary units offer ample facilities for pupils. A further seven corridor containers link the individual modules, creating a clear and coherent layout.

The result is a learning environment that closely matches the functionality and comfort of a conventional school building, while remaining temporary and highly flexible.
